6:53 a.m. lt. rain (stopped)
Pondering going without splint today. I can walk with my sandal unbuckled. I did it yesterday afternoon when I went for the scan. Blogged about that.

My pool is going to be cut short today for a 1 p.m. meeting at ACS. I'm trying to figure out what sandwhich to make that I can eat on the way.Maybe the old peanut butter and jelly standby.

I'd rather just sit here and continue my look through 'flee the cities' photo stream. He's a railroad engineer apparently and I found his photo's interesting. Thanks to him I'm learning how to read some tags. lol

Again this morning I could not get up at 3:45 when Chan thought I should. I asked Wil too. We take turns and it is amazing what an extra nap will do. Had to get up at 6 when nature called.

I had the stupidest dream about trying to get Max and Murphy back in their cages. Both birds would squeeze out between the bars and I couldn't get Max's cage door to open to put him back. When I was telling Wil about the dream I said Max and Buster but then I realized it wasn't Buster, nor was the cage his. Both of these birds are gone now. How strange I would dream about them. I don't usually even remember a dream so vividly.

Yesterday I told Wil I am worried about my brain sometimes. So many times I am typing and write the wrong word, or can't remember how to spell a simple one. Like when I tried to type the word accustom I couldn't, but I could write it with pencil. Or I'm like the granny in 'Made of Honor' and don't know what glow in the dark sex beads are used for. I'm too young for dementia!

7:49 a.m. breakfast over, birds fed and pool stuff ready. I think. I put shoes on this morning and the top of my foot isn't so tender now. If my foot swells I'll probably have to loosen the straps.

Did a search through google for wasted tax dollars. Many more of such pages out there, how much is accurate I sure don't know. But it was in response to the Texas Solution email I got yesterday.
I have a friend who is president of his homeowners association in the Dallas , Texas suburbs. They were having a terrible problem with litter near some of his association's homes. The reason according to Wallace (my friend) is that six very large, luxurious new houses are being built right next to their community.

The trash was coming from the Mexican laborers working at the construction sites and included bags fromMcDonald's, Burger King and 7-11, plus coffee cups, napkins, cigarette butts, coke cans, empty bottles, etc. He went to see the site supervisor and even the general contractor, politely urging them to get their workers not to litter the neighborhood, to no avail. He called the city, county, and police and got no help there either.

So here's what his community did. They organized about twenty folks, named themselves The 'Inner Neighborhood Services' group, and arranged to go out at lunch time and 'police' the trash themselves. It is what they did while picking up the trash that is so hilarious. They bought navy blue baseball caps and had the initials 'INS' embroidered in gold on the caps. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand what they hoped people might mistakenly think the letters really stand for.

After the Inner Neighborhood Services group's first lunch time pickup detail, with all of them wearing their caps and some carrying cameras, 46 out of the total of 68 construction workers did not show up for work the next morning -- and haven't come back yet. It has been ten days now.

The General Contractor, I'm told, is madder than hell, but can't say anything publicly because he could be busted for hiring illegal aliens. Wallace and his bunch can't be accused of impersonating federal personnel, because they have the official name of the group recorded in their homeowner association minutes along with a notation about the vote to approve formation of the new subcommittee -- and besides, they informed the INS in advance of their plans and according to Wallace, the INS said basically, 'Have at it!'

SO, FOLKS, I THINK YOU COULD SAY THAT TEXAS INGENUITY TRIUMPHS AGAIN!

Reminder: Don't forget to pay your taxes...12 million illegal aliens are depending on you.

The reminder to me was the clincher. Plus coming from a Christian lady who bought another farm just to grow corn on as she has vested interest in the new fuel, just tightened my jaws. (she doesn't seem concerned what this industry is doing to worldwide food supply).

I have always said I go to church not because I'm a saint, but a sinner, yet to see someone that doesn't care about the plight of poor coming here to work I don't connect. I'm not saying I'm 'for' illegals, but we have tagged only the 'Mexican' illegals, forgetting they aren't the only ones.

I was talking to Wil about how many American's could or would work on a farm for low wages and hard work. Shoot I don't see our own daughter out there taking a low paying job in the interim until she can find one she was educated for. My sister who is having trouble with Barnes and Nobles after 10 years said she would scrub toilets before she lost her house.

Where have we gone wrong when people have become so paticular about jobs? Shoot when Wil was active duty and not making enough he took on a second job.

I do realize the employers of today are a bunch of money grubbers. But throughout history haven't these types always exploited their workers?

It is not a simple problem and there isn't a simple solution. I was naive to think our prejudices were slowly being erased in this melting pot country. Shoot the W.VA primary proved that beyond a doubt.

Enough Bonnie! Go read a good book.
